Join our archaeologists and Heritage experts this May as we record 18th and 19th century gravestones and monuments from St James’s burial ground, Euston, London.

Gravestones and memorials hold unique information about people and places. By helping to record the gravestones and memorials you will be adding to the archaeological record. You will be creating a database of information which can be accessed in the future.

You  will:

  • produce detailed records of the gravestones and their inscriptions
  • create a photographic record of the gravestones
  • digitise the records for future research purposes
  • have an opportunity to continue the journey by carrying out further research in the archives

You will be trained in archaeological processes and be supervised by experienced archaeologists throughout the work. As part of the team you will have the opportunity to explore the history and archaeology of the area through site tours, talks and other activities.
